สร้างมาจากนิทานพื้นบ้านอันโด่งดังของเกาหลี “อารังกับซาโต้” ตำนานผีสาวสุดเฮี้ยน ที่วนเวียนอาฆาตแค้นและร้องขอความช่วยเหลือจากการตายที่ไม่เป็นธรรมของเธอ ในยุคสมัยโชซอน เมืองมิลยัง อารัง (Arang) หญิงสาวผู้แสนน่ารักสดใส ลูกสาวของชาโต้(เจ้าหน้าที่ฝ่ายปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่น) ต้องเจอเหตุการณ์อันเลวร้ายที่สุดในชีวิต เมื่อผู้ร้ายหมายจะข่มขืน เธอขัดขืนเลยโดนฆ่าตาย และผู้เป็นบิดาต้องลาออกจากตำแหน่งด้วยความอับอาย เพราะคิดว่าลูกสาวตนหนีตามผู้ชายอื่นไป เมื่อมีคนมารับช่วงตำแหน่งต่อจากพ่อ ผีสาวก็ตามหลอกหลอนหนีเปิดเปิงไปทุกราย ยกเว้นซาโต้หนุ่มรูปหล่อคนใหม่ นามว่า อึนโอ (อีจุนกิ) ที่ไม่หนีกลับเห็นอกเห็นใจและสัญญาว่าจะช่วยตามหาตัวคนร้ายและจะช่วยล้าง แค้นให้เธอ… เรื่องนี้ได้ดาราดัง ชินมินอา อีจุนกิ และ ยูซึงโฮ มาร่วมแสดง
